Hello! My name is Hailey Gutzmer, I’m a senior Health Science major, and I am the President of the Theta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi.

Alpha Delta Pi takes pride in being the “first and the finest” as it was the first sorority, founded in 1851 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Our open motto, “We Live for Each Other,” represents the true meaning of sisterhood as we live by the belief that we should be there to support our sisters in all aspects of life, whether that be mentally, emotionally or academically.

Our chapter here at James Madison University was founded on December 2, 2012. This past year, our chapter was recognized as JMU Fraternity and Sorority Life’s Sorority of the Year for 2017. This award would not have been possible without the passion and effort put forth by our sisters and chapter officers to help our chapter reach high standards in scholarship, membership development, campus involvement, and philanthropy.

Alpha Delta Pi’s passion for our International Philanthropy, Ronald McDonald House Charities, is something that truly sets us apart. Each semester, we put on a philanthropy event which unites other Greek Life organizations as well as other clubs on campus to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. In addition to raising money through philanthropy events, our chapter also sends sisters each week to volunteer at the local Ronald McDonald House.

This group of women has helped me to find confidence, strength, and a home here at JMU. I am so grateful to be a member of a sorority that values their sisters and leaders on the level that Alpha Delta Pi does by offering each sister countless opportunities to grow and reach their true potential.  When I look back on my past three years in this sorority, I have nothing but positive memories, and I cannot wait to see what’s yet to come!

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Alpha Delta Pi and our chapter here at JMU. It is a true honor to be serving as Chapter President this year and to guide our chapter toward future successes at James Madison University.

Loyally,

Hailey Gutzmer
